EMT Training Program
Emergency Medical Technician - 1 Training Program
For more information email education@sfparamedics.orgPrepare For Your Future!
The Emergency Medical Technician - 1 (EMT-1) Training Program will prepare you to provide emergency medical care to victims of accidents and sudden illness. You will develop skills in symptom recognition, emergency care procedures and techniques considered to be within the responsibilities of an EMT. Emergency Medical Technicians provide routine and emergency medical care with an ambulance service or fire department, as well as in hospitals and clinics. Becoming an EMT is the first step towards becoming a paramedic and/or firefighter.

The SFPA EMT-1 courses are taught by highly experienced paramedics and EMTs who are certified or credentialed instructors. Smaller student to instructor ratios than required gives students more hands-on time with the equipment to practice procedures and techniques. High academic standards result in a superior passing rate on the National Registry of EMTs competency examination. The SFPA programs exceed the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration guidelines for EMT-1 training.
