San Francisco Paramedic Association
Since 1987, the San Francisco Paramedic Association has worked to improve the delivery of emergency medical services in the San Francisco Bay Area. They strive to meet their goal through education. They have consistently offered excellence in EMS, medical and community education in part by participating in virtually every American Heart Association initiative to improve public and emergency awareness, prevention and treatment of heart disease and stroke. This has included leadership in American Heart Association Task Forces and Committees, roll out of new American Heart Association programs, contribution to ILCOR (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation) activities, seminars and training. During the past 18 years, the San Francisco Paramedic Association has educated countless thousands of people- actively spreading awareness of heart disease prevention and both lay people and trained medical professionals to respond appropriately to cardiac emergencies. Each year thousands more people will be trained in their role in the “Chain of Survival”. The San Francisco Paramedic Association has also been active working alongside the American Heart Association Health Initiative project, “Operation Heartbeat” by supporting initiatives such as Heartsaver CPR in the School, and Public Access Defibrillation programs. The San Francisco Paramedic Association has played a key role in helping the American Heart Association achieves its mission.
